My first cozy sci-fi story - Orphans of the Midnight Star

Keystone codex

So, I decided to take a short break from my usual hack-and-slash adventures, and write a cozy sci-fi story.

I had been wanting to take up some lighter themes after a few disheartening events in my personal life. When Shane proposed the theme of “cozy apocalypse” for his upcoming collaborative magazine - Keystone Codex, it seemed like a great starting point to try something new.

The first issue of the magazine is out now, and alongside mine, features works from a couple of very creative authors. I have read through all of them and have enjoyed most. Get it here.

Orphans of the Midnight Star is set in the same universe as The Nightwyrms' Resurgence and can be considered as an origin story of the Saranthian colony. If you are one of the handful of folks who have read The Grandmaster’s Infatuation, you have perhaps wondered why a cradle ship would choose to settle in a hostile environment such as Saranthia. This story answers that.

Norman’s journey will continue in the next episode of The Nightwyrms' Resurgence, which is expected to drop around mid next year. As you might expect by now, Saranthia will have a very crucial role to play in The Grandmaster’s Resurrection.

New release: The Moribund Monarch’s Masterpiece

A free standalone dark fantasy novella

The Moribund Monarch's Masterpiece

Excited to announce that my new standalone dark fantasy novella—The Moribund Monarch’s Masterpiece, is now out.

This action-packed grimdark story follows the final leg of a warrior prince’s quest to avenge the death of his father, and to rid the world of the cruel monarch who has ruled over the lands viciously for centuries.

Raurkein has seen the barbarous empire repeatedly justify all its atrocities in the name of the Predator God, the prehistoric monster worshiped by the monarchy. However, he has also realized that to crush the empire from within, he will have to embrace not just its weapons but also its faith.

In this quest, he will have to face treachery, deceit and hideous mythical monsters. For the last ten years, he has relentlessly honed one skill—the art of killing. But will it be enough? The monarch may be old, but he is undoubtedly powerful, and his mastery of sorcerous arts links back to secrets that have stayed hidden for centuries.
